Despite the projects age, it nonetheless still remains one of the most sought after condo developments in Jomtien thanks to it’s highly strategic near beach location with what is arguably Pattaya’s best beach, namely Dongtan Beach being less than 200 meters away, and the local baht bus route passes directly by the projects front entrance. And if that wasn’t impressive there’s a huge proliferation of bars, restaurants, convenience stores, banks and pharmacies quite literally on your doorstep.
Jomtien Complex Condotel is part of a greater complex, which incorporates both a twin tower, 32 story residential condominium project together with a complex of commercial townhouses called Jomtien Complex. Whilst the project itself is comprised of 1,118 individual units, which range in size from entry level 68 square meter, studio and 1 bedroom apartment to huge 395 square meter, 4 bedroom penthouse duplex apartments, spread across 2 identical twin towers known as Building A & B respectively.
Despite both towers featuring their own separate right of access and lifts, they nonetheless still share the same amenities, which are primarily centered around the 4th Floor. These amenities include a 1.5 meter deep communal swimming pool and sundeck, flanked by landscaped gardens and walkways on either side of the pool, a fully-equipped gymnasium and sauna, a games room with table tennis and snooker tables, and for good measure 2 tennis courts together with more standard amenities such as covered car-parking and 24 Hour security with key-card and CCTV access. Other amenities include privately owned and operated commercial shops and restaurants, which are located on the ground floor adjacent to the main hotel-like drop off point and open air lobby, reception and lounge area.
At the time of construction back in the early 1990’s, the Developer had promised the original buyers of Jomtien Complex Condotel a guaranteed sea view, and they planned to accomplish this by building a low-rise complex on the parcel of land directly in front of the twin towers nearest the beach. Sadly this was not to be as the Developer for reasons unknown ran short of funds. In later years this land was subsequently legally resold to another more successful Developer, namely View Talay who then built the widely popular Y-shaped, 27 story View Talay 7 project on the site. Thankfully most of the units within Jomtien Complex Condotel still have some very nice sea views irrespective of the fact that a high-rise building was built directly in front of the twin towers in later years.
For a time, the economic outlook of aforementioned commercial townhouse development, namely Jomtien Complex, looked pretty bleak but thankfully in recent times there’s been a resurgence of interest from both Thai and foreign investors of late and the commercial complex has now been transformed into a vibrant and popular shopping and entertainment venue, much like the twin towers themselves. So in the end the original Developer of both Jomtien Complex Condotel and Jomtien Complex finally did achieve their stated ambitions in the end, which is a great result for all concerned.
Jomtien Complex Condotel was completed back in early 1995.
